What This Exposition Ticket Is All About: This Ticket Was Issued For The World’s Columbian Exposition Held In Chicago In 1893, One Of The Most Important International Fairs Of The 19th Century. The Exposition Commemorated The 400th Anniversary Of Christopher Columbus’s Voyage To The Americas And Served As A Major Global Showcase Of Industry, Art, Culture, And Technology, Attracting Millions Of Visitors From Around The World.
The Front Of The Ticket Features A Detailed Engraved Native American Portrait, Symbolizing Indigenous Heritage Within The Broader Narrative Of American History Presented At The Fair. It Is Surrounded By Ornate Security Engraving Produced By The American Bank Note Company Of New York, With The Official Heading “World’s Columbian Exposition Chicago Admit The Bearer” And The Valid Admission Period Of 1st May To 30th October 1893. The Reverse Side Reads “Good For One Admission At Pay Gates” And Displays Matching Ornamental Security Pattern Printing Designed To Prevent Counterfeiting And Control Entry Access.
These Tickets Were Official Gate Admission Instruments Used During The Operation Of The Fair And Represent Authentic 1893 Ephemera From The Exposition Grounds. Today They Are Highly Sought After By Collectors Of World’s Fair Memorabilia And Historic Bank Note Printing, Reflecting Both The Artistic Craftsmanship Of American Bank Note Company Engraving And The Scale Of The Columbian Exposition.

Thanks So Much For Stopping By!Most Of The Poster Stamps And Cinderellas I Offer Are Truly Old HistoricTreasures! Many Are Close To 100 Years Old Or More. Because Of Their Age, YouMight Notice A Few Minor Imperfections Here And There. They're Full Of HistoryAnd Character, But They Most Definitely Aren't Post Office Fresh. That'sEspecially True For Cinderella And Poster Stamps, So Please Take A Good Look AtThe Scans Because They're An Important Part Of The Description. Also, PleaseNote That The Backs Of Poster Stamps Are Typically Considered Much LessImportant Than The Fronts, And Descriptions Can Be A Bit Subjective. If TheCondition Of The Back Is Important To You, Just Reach Out. I Am Happy ToProvide More Details Or Additional Scans.
