Offered here is an original WWII-era ID badge issued to aircraft factory workers at the Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke, one of Nazi Germany’s primary aviation manufacturers during the war. Badges like this were worn by factory personnel to control access to restricted areas where aircraft production, assembly, and engine work occurred — including fighter and bomber programs.
Stamped “ZW / Z” with the worker number tag still intact, this represents internal identification for a specific labor group or zone inside the Junkers facility. Badge is constructed of wartime zinc (Zink) — a material commonly used in late-war German badges due to metal shortages. The fold-over tab allowed the badge to be worn on a lapel or shirt pocket for visual verification by guards.
Historical relevance: Junkers factories produced several iconic Luftwaffe aircraft including the Ju 87 “Stuka” dive bomber and the Ju 88 multipurpose bomber. These plant-issued badges are becoming increasingly hard to obtain, especially with original numbers present.
