🇩🇪 1897 German Kaiser Wilhelm I Centennial Medal — Original w/ RibbonDescription:
This is an original 1897 Kaiser Wilhelm I Centennial Medal (Zentenarmedaille), issued throughout the German Empire to commemorate the 100th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I, the first Emperor of unified Germany and King of Prussia. These medals were awarded to veterans, active-duty soldiers, state officials, and participants in imperial ceremonies marking the anniversary.
The obverse displays Wilhelm I in military coat and cap, with the surrounding legend “Wilhelm der Grosse Deutscher Kaiser Koenig von Preussen.” The reverse inscription memorializes the centennial celebration and is framed by laurel and oak leaves, traditional symbols of German honor and strength.
The medal retains its correct gold-yellow ribbon folded in the period German triangular style. Collectors value these for their direct link to Imperial Germany, the Prussian Army, and early German national history.
Features:
Authentic 1897 Imperial German Centennial Medal
Portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm I
Original period ribbon and mounting pin
Bronze construction with attractive aged patina
Key collectible for Imperial German and Prussian militaria
