I have a 383 HP shortblock from a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner , in need of a sleeve in cylinder #4, this block is stamped E 383 , 10 3 , HP on the boss near distributor the vin stamp near oil pan is RM21H9F114538, casting date of 6-28-68, casting 2468130-8, This shortblock was cleaned, checked, bored 30 over, new freeze out plugs, new pistons, recon rods, crank turned ,new oil pump timing gears and chain, 5/8\" oil pick up and only had 100 miles on it when the unthinkable happened, I made the mistake of running a set of older heads while awaiting some custom pushrods for the rebuilt cylinder heads that had been milled a lot more than I was aware of. I had the engine running perfect and took it up to show a friend of mine the car he restored and on the way home the exhaust valve snapped off at the stem and cracked the inside of #4 cylinder, as you can see in the last 2 pictures. If your looking for a correct 69 Road Runner 383hp shortblock and have the time and money to have a sleeve installed and a new piston, this is for you, since my Road Runner is not a numbers matching car, I went with a alternative complete engine, and don\'t have the funds or time to repair this one.
