This is a pair of original GM aluminum heads for a Big Block Chevy engine. These factory high performance heads have rectangular intake ports and closed combustion chambers. The casting number on each head is 3919842. These heads are both damaged and will need significant repair to make them usable again.
The 3919842 head was used by GM on the following applications: Late 67-early 69 Corvette 427/430HP L-88 Engine, Late 67-69 Corvette L-89 427/435HP Engine, 68-70 L-89 396(402)/375 HP engine in Camaros, Chevelles, and Novas*. These are very rare and hard to find heads.
These heads are in need of major repairs as shown. One head has had the end broken off and I don\'t have the missing piece. The missing area will need to be rebuilt . The second head had a piston hit the head in one cylinder which caused significant cracking as shown. That\'s the bad news.
The good news is the heads are aluminum so the material is easy to work with and most any aluminum head can be fixed. Also, both heads have not been ported or significantly surfaced. This would be a good set of heads to put money into. Most set of 3919842 heads trade hand for $2500-$5000 depending on condition, etc. I have priced this pair to allow someone who doesn\'t mind doing some work to save some money and have some fun.
