Under consideration is a Limoges vintage, elegantly hand-painted and beautifully crafted porcelain hinged Trinket Box. The box is in the form of a pink Volkswagen beetle car mounted on a 2 5/8’ x 1 3/4” oval hinged box. Top of oval box is painted green and brown to represent a country road. The opening clasp is a seated rabbit. Positioned in the center of the bottom of the open box is a hand painted European road sign, 100 km. Botton of box has scribed in the center ‘Peint Main’, ‘Limoges\', ‘France’and the artist initials ‘G. E.’
Note: The creation of the Limoges Porcelain Box is an arduous and time intensive process of creating a master mold, detail painting by hand of color and design, performing multiple firing and glazing processes upon the porcelain mold. For a final touch a metal hinge and clasp for opening and closing.
