Doug's Headers (a new Pertronix company) has been a respected name in the header industry since the 60's. Cars with the famous "Headers by Doug" decal in the window are consistently among the top performers in their various classes. With Pertronix 40 year history behind them, Doug's Headers is sure to continue as a leader in the aftermarket exhaust world.
Header development and design is complex and requires a substantial amount of time and resources to do the job right! Many manufacturers are unwilling to make the commitment and instead offer compromised headers at lower prices.
Doug’s will not compromise performance, quality or fit to compete with inferior designs at cheap prices. Every Doug’s header is tuned with the proper tube size and length to efficiently remove all the exhaust from each cylinder, reducing pumping losses resulting in a dramatic increases in horsepower and torque. Doug’s headers are carefully developed on the vehicles they are intended to fit and are re-checked numerous times during the design and manufacturing process.
How important are flange and tubing thickness to header performance?
A properly machined and finished header flange eliminates annoying exhaust leaks which lead to horsepower loss. Doug’s headers utilize 3/8" flanges on passenger car and street rod applications and 1/2" to 5/8" flanges on heavy-duty applications, such as motorhomes and late model trucks. Thicker flanges hold up to heat better and are less likely to warp. Late model vehicles and high performance muscle cars produce super heated conditions that can warp "thinner" flanges.
Header tubing thickness and proper fixture welding techniques can affect the longevity of a header. Headers for light duty applications are built with 16 gauge tubing. Heavy-duty applications, such as motorhomes or tow vehicles demand thicker 14 gauge tubing. Doug’s headers are built in heavy duty jig fixtures which eliminate heat distortion and movement of the individual header tubes. Each header is welded using cyclical welding techniques which reduces tube distortion.

Every Doug’s header comes with all the necessary mounting hardware, collector reducers or connector pipes, premium gaskets and detailed installation instruction sheets. Our extra thick gaskets are rated up to 1100ºF, pressures to 3700 psig (255 bar), and are designed for an exact port match with Doug’s headers. We do not recommend the use of other aftermarket gaskets. Doug's premium gaskets are sold separately see page number 27 for applications.
What finish is applied to a Doug’s headers?

MCTBC is simply the best header finish on the market andis availableoptionally on all Doug’s headers. MCTBC protects and extends the life of headers by creating a thermal barrier that significantly lowers underhood temperatures and protects the substrate metal from thermal fatigue. After MCTBC is applied, it is polished with a vibratory finishing process that produces a high luster aluminum appearance. This coating is easy to maintain and will last for years under normal operating conditions. The polishing process compresses and activates the coating, which increases the surface hardness to produce a finish that is 60% more corrosion resistant than an unpolished surface.
Although all hardware is included with your headers, OPTIONAL @ extra cost "Stage 8" Locking Header Bolt Kits offer increased assurance against horsepower loss due to gasket failure damage caused by header bolt loosening.

The MSX80 8mm OD wires with silicone insulation provides excellent durability and proven performance. Available in Black, Red, Yellow, and Blue.
The MSX90 series 9mm OD silicone wires pack a 1200°F glass impregnated outer layer for the ultimate in heat resistance and wire life. And there's more color choices: Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.
All Massive's wires include extra thick boots to keep the elements from corroding the contacts which insures excellent life span. Low resistance as well as RF suppression provides the current punch required for Hot Rod applications while keeping the air waves clear of radio noise.
Each wire has its own wire number marker and an included wire loom separator to keep the wires tidy and looking good and installation silicone grease.

Limited One Year Warranty
All Doug’s headers and exhaust products are guaranteed, to the original purchaser, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year. This warranty covers the replacement or repair of the product only and does not cover the cost of removal and installation, customer applied aftermarket coatings or any discoloration or corrosion of finished surfaces.
Damage or product failure resulting from collision, improper installation, off-road use, road hazards, the use of exhaust insulating wrap or like products or rust occurring after installation, is not covered by the warranty. The warranty extends only to the original purchaser.
Should a part become defective it should be returned to the original selling retailer and must be accompanied with the sales receipt. If there is no retailer in your area, call the factory for a return authorization and return your part prepaid to the factory for inspection. PerTronix reserves the rights to replace or repair the alleged defective part and return the part freight collect.

Returns:
To receive credit, you must return the item within 30 days of receipt. We will not however accept anything without prior approval and an RMA number. Please CALL to gain approval. We don't accept products that aren't in their original unmolested packaging.
If you feel your order was shipped in error, please check the part number on the box received against the part number you ordered. If the part number agrees with your order, please contact us for a verification of the fitment for your vehicle.
Returns must be shipped to us pre-paid and credit will be minus the original freight costs. Credit will be issued against the purchase of the correct part minus a possible 10%re stocking charge if you've ordered the wrong part. Dinged, scratched or otherwise molested merchandise may be rejected for credit at our discretion. Please handle with care.
It's possible you may not be able to determine the actual part configuration until you've disassembled your vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers are notorious for changing specifications in the middle of a production run. Always consider this possibility before you disassemble your vehicle, since your vehicle may be disabled until the correct part is obtained.
Shipping:
We will ship your item with whatever service you choose. Be aware of the services pros and cons BEFORE selecting one.
All aerosol and other flammable products can only be shipped via UPS Ground.
UPS provides exceptionally good domestic service. The price is fair, the service fast and it offers detailed tracking the whole way.
USPS priority mail is good for lightweight packages and offers low cost and typically fast service and a delivery confirmation. Be aware that the times that they give are ESTIMATED, not guaranteed like UPS. If you need an item by a certain day, USE UPS. We can also offer faster next day services. Please call for a quote. Be aware that USPS Parcel Post offers NO tracking and often is quite slow.
USPS service is also the best for any international shipments as costs are low and customs is often painless. Whenever you have us ship with a tracking numbered service, we will email it to you.
