This engine is a Thunderbird 390. It is a 1962. It came out of a 1962 Ford Galaxie.It has the original Thunderbird script imbossed in the valve covers.The block numbers are as follows; C1AE6015C/1K18:8. The head numbers are as follows; C1AE/10808. The car was said to have under 39,000 actual miles on it. I have every reason to believe the man I bought it from. However that being said, I cannot verify that(absolutely).The original owner bought the car new and kept it until he died. The car was left to his son and rusted away from the frame basically. It was not driven all that much . After the old man died, his son took this engine and tranny out and scrapped the body. This engine is not stuck and appears to be in good overall condition. It is complete,The parts that are off the engine right now, I have. It would not fit my rack with the carberator on it, so I took it off. 1 exhaust manifold is off, but I have it.I also have the starter and generator and fan blade(it was bent from removing engine). There is no breather. The distributor is on it. It is sold as is, where is.as you see it in this photo. No other parts are included. With a good cleaning and a major tune-up,and rebuilding of the carberator,It could be run as is. or rebuild it to suit your needs.The automatic tranny is original and has been sitting a while. It will probably need new seals at least, otherwise, its condition is unknown.
