This is a real deal 1969 Big Block Chevrolet engine block. The casting number is 3963512. The casting date is L 9 8 which decodes as December 9th, 1968. The 3963512 was used exclusively for 427 engines in the 1969 model year. It was also used as a 454 block in the 1970 and 1971 model years. This is a very hard to find factory 4 Bolt Main 427 block. 4 Bolt main blocks were reserved for high performance solid lifter cam applications. To add to the rarity, this block has a "CE" code on the pad. The CE code shows that this was a warranty exchange block or sold over the dealer counter as a high performance part. Supercar builders like Motion Performance used "CE" stamped engines in their infamous 427 and 454 conversions. This is a very rare and hard to find block!
This block is in very good condition as shown. It recently came out of a collection where it had not seen the light of day in decades. The bore size is .030 over and the bores are quite clean with no grooves, gouges, or pitting. I believe this block will stay at .030 over. One cylinder has a professionally installed sleeve. All threads are in good condition with no helicoils or thread inserts. The block has been checked for cracks and has no cracks or other damage. The deck surfaces are original with the original broach marks intact as shown. All main caps are original to the block and in good condition. This is a very nice factory high performance block.
This is simply an awesome original 1969 427 4 bolt main block. Don't miss this awesome chance to own a real deal 1969 427 block!

I will be happy to palletize this engine at a cost of $20 which is what it will cost for the straps and pallet. I will also drop this engine off at any shipping terminal within 45 miles of Santa Cruz, CA free of charge. Shipping arrangements and paymentare the responsibility of the buyer. Most of my customers end up using YRC freight which used to be Roadway Express and Yellow Freight. Other customers have had luck with freightquote.com. The weight of the shortblock when palletized will be about 275 pounds.
