This is an original GM aluminum cylinder head for a Big block Chevy engine. The casting number is 3904392. The 3904392 head was originally used by GM on the following applications: 1967 L-89 396/375HP, 1967 L-89 427/435HP, and 1967 L-88 427/430HP engines. The 3904392 head was the top dog of its day. Very few were ordered since the options were very expensive for the time. Finding a 3904392 hea today is a difficult task. Don\'t miss this amazing original.This head is in very good condition as shown. As mentioned above, this was the most high performance head of the time when introduced, including aftermarket sources. If you wanted aluminum heads for your big block, you went to GM. Most of these heads were sent to a performance shop and ported and modified from the first day they were used. Even more later encountered high lift cams and broke rocker stud bosses which will never be the same again. Others suffered valve clearance issues, etc that iron heads would survive but aluminum heads would not. Even more fought the battle of corrosion and lost. Finally, when the open combustion chamber heads were released, many of these closed chamber heads were poorly converted to the open chamber design. Finding an unmodified head like this is like finding a needle in a haystack. Don\'t miss this awesome original head!This head is in very good original condition. All part numbers, markings, and winter\'s foundry snowflakes are intact and undisturbed.It is dated 4/14/67 as shown.There are no breaks, modifications, or repairs other than one professionally repaired spark plug thread. There is also no porting or corrosion to this head. All rocker stud bosses are in great shape with no breaks or repairs. The chambers are completely stock with no polishing or modifications. This head has not been excessvely decked/surfaced. In fact, I don\'t think is has ever been resurfaced at all. All threads are very nice with no repairs other than the spark plug thread mentioned above. These 3904392heads are getting almost impossible to find in any condition.
