When I purchased this block, it came out of a 1965, 4 speedChevy Nova that was turned into a gorgeous gasser with a stroker engine. The block build stamping matched that of the car it came from.
Upon inspection by a top-notch race engine builder, it was found that the passenger's side deck was resurfaced from 9.025", down to 8.999", and was re-stamped with build and VIN info, the driver's side was still @ 9.025",the bore was @ 4.040
The engine builderdecked the driver's side to match the passenger's side (and are both straight), and rough bored the block to 4.055
This is a good block that is rebuildable without issue, with exception that thicker then stock head gaskets will be required.
This is an original 3790721, 1965 Chevy Nova 327 block which is evident by the upside down 721 cast into the block sides. It was cast @ the foundry November 4th, 1964.
