The luxury automaker explains that engine performance modifications did not only provide for increased peak horsepower and torque levels, but also for acceleration feel and exhaust sound without compromising fuel economy or noise standards. The IPL-tuned high-flow exhaust is a true dual exhaust design that features a unique interior design and makes use of materials that allow for maximized reduction in pressure while still creating a uniquely performance-minded exhaust note. Compared to the standard G Coupe’s Y-pipe exhaust, the IPL G Coupe enjoys 30 percent less exhaust pressure. The IPL G Coupe’s VQ37HR 3.7-liter V6 engine management system has been re-calibrated through air-fuel mixture and ignition timing optimization, raising the maximum horsepower output point to 7,400 rpm from 7,000 rpm. For an improved acceleration feel, the torque curve from below the peak torque was re-tuned for a more linear feel.
