1971 Ford Thunderbird Landau For Sale

 Here for sale is my 1971 Thunderbird .I bought it a year ago only and have been using it every other day as a daily driver .I love the car and its 429 CID delivering some 370 hp coupled with the C6 transmission .They both work like a charm .I sell it because last october I bought a 2011 Dodge Challenger RT classic .Couldn't resist :)Already owning 4 more vehicles not including this one I had to make a choice and let go of  a few .This thunderbird is the landau model which is the rarest of them with the high profile bucket seat interior ,A lot has been done to this car since 2006 and I have worth 10 000 dollars of invoice for work being performed on it from new alternator to new vinyl roof , new brakes and much much more .The paint is also from 2006  only and looks good .Unfortunatly it is not a high quality preparation and application .Good for a driver but not for show at all .The car is originally the " light green " color and has been covered " Green Fire "some peeling in hidden place here and there like in the door opening for example shows the original color . The trunk lid has a few marks from hitting trunk loads probably , subtle , but visible outside for the demanding owner .There is also a couple inches long scratch on the lower passenger door . that's all in the negative to say about the body and like I stated before it's a good looking driver that won't disappoint you or anybody if you go to shows for fun .I have done that myself and received a lot of compliments Mechanically it is in wonderful condition . The 429 starts right up and the transmission shifts like new .It has a lot of power to leave gum on the tarmac and is very fast .The only thing I have done on the car myself is changing the exhaust manifold on the driver side .The passenger side is slightly cracked but doesn't leak yet .I will include a replacement one as it comes difficult to find these not cracked anymore .The ignition has been changed from points to electronic and works very well . The four wheels brakes are brand new including brake lines .You can fully accelerate this car and slam the breaks , hands off the steering wheel ( not too far ) without deviating from straight line  at all .The steering also has no play and the shocks are new .The exhaust is a dual custom small mufflers one which I cannot identify the brand .It is in good shape and gives a louder tone than the original although not obnoxious at all .All of that gives a very confident riding experience .The tires are decent , around 50% , but old and could be replaced to perfect the car .Power windows and seat are in working order .Sequential flashers works , The only thing that needs attention is the dashboard illumination which probably would need bulbs replacement and the clock which doesn't work .The interior is in close to perfect condition front and rear with no damages on seats at all , the lid covering the ashtray in the center console  has the back slightly damaged and the dashboard top vinyl has two cracks in it left and right of the instruments cluster .Carpet is in mint condition . the windows felt lips are brand new but the roofrail rubber needs replacement and the one on the car is not original .A brand new set usually retails for around 350 $ .The air conditionning has been redone according to invoice but I could not make it work so I cannot guarantee it and think it doesn't have gas . I cannot have it refilled here in Los angeles unless I would go for a conversion . The mirror on the car is a 1973 LTD one .I have the original one but the glass is broken .I got  a spare one to fix it but didn't do it yet so I'll include it with the car .The car is complete with no missing trims .If I was to keep the car the only thing I would consider is to have the radiator checked .Nothing wrong with it but the temperature gauge indicates higher than middle , up to three quarter when in full temperature .It never overheated but I see that as a sign of checking the radiator to see if it's partially clogged .Thermostat is bran new and fan works perfectly .I think I covered everything and will add more if necessary .Let me know for additional information you might need .Thanks for your interest and I hope you'll soon be the happy owner of that wonderful car :)
