Ok here is a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 my son bought 2yrs ago, the owner  told my son how the car came to be in the condition it is in today .The car was originally sold in Northern Minesota or North Dakota ,It came into the hands of a Gentlemen who had another 69 Chevelle , This one had some body damage from a previous owner, but the drivetrain and Frame were very nice ,The other had the reverse , So he did a body swap .To clarify This SS396 Chevelle being the one with the "bad body" is no longer sitting on its original frame. The other which took the drive train and frame and "good body" were driven daily , and eventually sold im still trying to get more info on where the second cars where abouts. The SS 396 body was sold to a guy for roundy round raceing ,so a roll cage was needed, he cut the roof off to put in the roll cage ??? and brazed the roof back on. Just sepeculation but i suspect this was done some where in and around mid 70s to mid 80s as these cars were not shall we say treated with the amount of respect they are today. The car was retired from raceing and eventually came into the hands of a Vietnam Combat medic from whom my son purchased the car. As for current condition and usable parts , The body is extremly rough , but not much Structural rust to speak of on the body, frame is a diferent story.Original mounting holes for SS trim, ie punched not drilled.Original paint visible in Mounting holes. It retains its original dash and floor shift steering column ,bench seat  4spd mouning braket and floor pan UnCut ,SS 396 dash molding. The big block rad cradle is still present but bent up ,Could be straightend as there is no rust .If additional info or pics are needed please email nvg007 at hotmail.com .It will need to be trailered, buyers expense . Note SS Stering wheel emblem is missing the wheel got torn off during transport. Can help with loading , reserve the right to end auction early as it is for Sale locally Good luck and happy biding
