1939 BUICK CENTURY100% ORIGINAL Up for sale is my 1939 Buick Century. It is equipped with the original 320 Cubic Inch Buick Straight Eight Dyna Flash engine with Valve-In-Head, and has a 3 speed Manual Wilson Select Transmission. This motor was designed to go 100mph. This was the first year to have the shift lever on the steering column. It has the Full-Float Ride 4 Coil Spring Suspension System and rides like a dream. The motor was professionally rebuilt recently by a classic car company and has only a few hundred miles on the motor. No expense was spared on the motor rebuild and has all ORIGINAL parts. I have all the paperwork and receipts from the rebuild. It does have 79,060 original miles on the body. The motor runs excellent and starts upon the first crank. The transmission shifts smooth and the clutch is very strong. This car was produced in Michigan and spent its whole life in California until the last few years where it has been garaged kept in Florida by a classic car collector. It has never been restored and is COMPLETELY original. The exterior is in great shape and is free from any dents, dings, or any similar imperfections. The paint is ORIGINAL and is starting to show small cracks here and there (as seen in the pictures), however ONLY around the gas cap door and windows. For surviving the last 73 years the paint and body is in amazing condition. The trunk and trunk lid are free from rust and/or water damage and is very clean. The front chrome bumper is in great shape and shows only a few minor imperfections as you can expect from the miles/year. The rear bumper is in fair condition and has a small section where the chrome has come (as seen in the pictures). The rest of the chrome on the car is in EXCELLENT shape which is very rare for classic cars like this one. The whitewall tires are older and in fair condition but should be replaced eventually, however they are safe to drive on. The spare tire appears to be original and the original jack is also in the trunk. On the corner of the doors on the interior side the paint has chipped away and there is a rust discoloration as can be expected. There is only discoloration and has not been structurally compromised. The floorboards and runners are in excellent condition as well and are free from any rust or rot. The carpet is clean and free from any stains, mildew, and is still attached to floor WITHOUT having any decay (especially in the insulation underneath). The seats are in EXCELLENT condition as well free from any rips, tears, stains, or fading. The wood grain throughout the car is in GREAT condition and is still very strong and shows beautifully. The headliner, just like the rest of the interior, is free from any imperfections and does not sag what so ever. The glass all around appears to be original and has no chips, cracks, or any imperfections. The windows all roll down with ease and do not stick. The door panels do have color distortion (as seen in the pictures) but are in great condition otherwise and are securely attached to the door frame and not falling apart like you see in many classic cars. This model is equipped with a heater which does work. It also has the AM radio with push buttons which was the first year for the push button option. The radio does turn on and picks up AM radio stations and the speakers produces a clear sound. This model also has the automatic cigar lighter option. This model also was equipped with seat belts. The trunk space has a light as well. All of the interior and exterior lights and signals work as expected. This model also had the factory suicide doors which is very rare. Overall the car is in EXCELLENT condition and is a great example of a 1930s Buick. All electronics, lights, and gauges work as expected and is road legal. I have all the original paperwork, books/manuals, and documentation for this car. It has been an enjoyable and fun car to own but it is time to find it a new home where it can continued to be enjoyed and loved. I have included several pictures below the description and for 70 additional pictures click the photo bucket link below. If shipping is needed I work with a local shipping company.
