A classic muscle car is up for grabs! Whoever gets this car will be very happy for what they're getting for the price. I've put quite a lot of money into it since buying it two years ago, including a completely rebuilt engine and transmission with under 4000 miles on them. I'm selling it because my wife and I just had a baby and fixing up our house is a bigger priority now. Rust-free! I bought this car on ebay about a year and a half ago (for a five digit sum) and I've done quite a bit of work to it since that time. The good: There's so much I've done. It has a completely refurbished drum brake system, newly rebuilt 289 V-8 engine (not original) and C-3 automatic transmission, new gas tank and sending unit, working electrical (with two minor exceptions - see "the bad" below), several thousand dollars worth of suspension work (I have all paperwork), new speaker panels up front, new tires, new wheels, new dash pad, air conditioning, and an aluminum 3-core radiator. The "bad": It has a few electrical issues that need to be tied up, but should be simple. First, the sending unit is for the wrong size gas tank. I have the correct sending unit (it obviously comes with the car), but it will need to be installed. Second, the radio doesn't work because it died out and was causing a short, so it had to be disconnected. There are a few areas of the body that will need some TLC for a full restoration, but nothing unusual for a car of this age. The interior doesn't look too bad, and I have new seat covers and carpeting that just need to be installed. The a/c condenser is broken, but otherwise the system is fully functional and retrofitted for R134A refrigerant. Overall, this car is in very good working condition, considering its age, and with a new paint job and just a small amount of work it would really increase in value. These old fastback mustangs have always held their worth over time. Whoever gets this car will be completely satisfied with their purchase. Look around ebay and you'll see how these cars keep their value really well. A solid deal with no hidden issues. Not to mention all the thumbs-up you'll get, people always looking at it, and knowing that you have one of the coolest cars on the road!On Jan-31-12 at 21:11:50 PST, seller added the following information:Here are some other things that I had done. I have receipts for most of the mechanical work.  Trunk seal Water pump Exhaust extention (to remove exhaust smell at idle) Tires, balanced Rear shocks Front end alignment Tie rods, sleeves Rear springs, bushings Lower control arms Spare tire, jack Idler arm assembly New battery New door handles and locks, including new mechanisms (very nice ?feel? now to shutting the door)On Jan-31-12 at 21:22:50 PST, seller added the following information:I was building this car to be my daily driver so I was focusing on all of the mechanical work first and leaving cosmetic for last.   As I said before, one of the reasons I bought this car was that it is practically rust-free.  This car was purchased on ebay from the previous owner who lived in Arizona and had the car for 13 years. I live in Albuquerque, which also has a very dry climate.  I'll try and take some pictures of the undercarriage tomorrow and post them. There are now pictures posted of the 5 inch U-joint and undercarriage, as well as some pictures of underneath the mat in the trunk area. I have been completely honest with this listing. What you see is what you get. No surprises. This car runs great and is ready to be a daily driver.
